Dermal Fillers

Like Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers treat fine lines and wrinkles. But fillers take a different route - rather than blocking nerve signals from reaching muscles, they supply the treatment area with lost volume. We offer a wide range of fillers to allow for every client goal to be achieved. Request your consultation to meet with our physician injector and learn which filler will deliver your ideal results.

Our cosmetic injector, Dr. Amjad Alkadri, is an expert in anti-aging and has been providing his patients with predictable, natural-looking results for many years.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

At your consultation, Dr. Alkadri will provide any precautions or notes for you to follow leading up to your injection. These may include –

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment

  • Don’t take painkillers in advance, as these can make you more likely to bruise due to blood thinning effects.

  • Tell your provider any medications you’re taking - it may be beneficial to avoid topical anti-aging products.

  • Avoid waxing, tweezing, bleaching or using hair removal cream in the treatment area (most notable for the lips/nasolabial folds).

  • Arrive at the office with your face washed and makeup-free.

Filler Treatment Steps

  • Consultation – Your doctor will discuss your anti-aging goals and consider which injection sites and medication will be ideal. You’ll also be able to ask any questions you have about treatment and receive detailed answers before moving forward.

  • Facial marking – Your provider will examine your face and mark the injection sites to plan their approach. They may also numb the injection area to help prevent discomfort. Some fillers also contain lidocaine for a numbing effect during treatment.

  • Injections – Your doctor will inject the appropriate areas with a very thin needle.

  • You’ll receive a certain number of injections depending on the treatment areas and the severity of the wrinkle or volume loss.

  • The full procedure time can vary significantly depending on the area treated - talk to your provider about what to expect. Lip filler, cheek filler and other areas all differ.

Dermal Filler FAQ

What’s the difference between different fillers? Which is ideal for me?

Fillers consist of different formulas and contain different materials (although most contain some version of hyaluronic acid). Some have a thicker texture and consistency, which makes them ideal for larger and more robust areas like the cheeks. Others have a more delicate consistency, which makes them appropriate for fine lines around the mouth and lip enhancement. Some fillers are formulated especially for the lips, to provide a natural look and feel as the lips move. Your ideal filler will depend on your injection site, age, and cosmetic goals. The only way to know which filler is ideal for you is to schedule a consultation and speak with our injector after they have examined your face.

We also offer Juvederm’s newest innovation, Skinvive. This is the first hyaluronic acid microdroplet filler of its kind. Skinvive improves cheek smoothness and glow by helping the skin retain its natural moisture. This creates a natural, lasting glow with subtle results.

Some popular filler treatment areas include:

How many syringes of filler will I need?

This depends on the treatment area and the depth of lines / extent of volume loss. Clients typically receive anywhere between 1-4 syringes for common treatment areas. We will discuss your treatment plan in advance so that you know exactly what to expect from the treatment process.

How long will my fillers last?

This also depends on the treatment area and your skin’s aging, but filler results last anywhere from 6-12 months. At this point, the fillers are fully dissolved and you will need to receive additional injections to recreate their volumizing effects.

We also offer long-lasting collagen-stimulating filler Sculptra.

Will there be any bruising or discomfort after my injections?

You may experience some bruising or discomfort after receiving your fillers, but it should not be significant. Most clients are able to return to their regular activities immediately, although we recommend you avoid rigorous exercise or activity for 1-2 days as this can lead to additional swelling and bruising.

Immediately after treatment, the area may appear slightly overfilled due to swelling - this will fade in the next few days and your final results will become visible.

Use on-and-off icing to treat any swelling/bruising and it should resolve on its own quickly after treatment.
