Microneedling with PRP or Exosomes
Your blood consists mainly of liquid plasma, with smaller amounts of solid components like red cells, white cells and platelets. Platelets help to clot blood, and also contain important healing proteins. Our physician creates platelet rich plasma by drawing a small amount of a patient’s blood, and then spinning it in a centrifuge to separate platelets from the other components. This concentrated plasma can then be used in a variety of treatments to stimulate cell growth and repair damaged skin. Your own PRP is reintroduced to your skin, so there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection.
We also offer microneedling with exosomes, key growth factors in the skin. Talk to your provider about which option could be best for your needs.

How to Prepare for Microneedling
Avoid sun exposure on the area that’s going to be treated to help make treatment safe and effective.
Tell your provider about any medications you’re taking or topical medications you’re applying so that they can ensure there won’t be any adverse reactions.
Avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications at least one week before your treatment as these can heighten the likelihood of bruising.
Hydrate well on the morning of your treatment.
Microneedling Steps
Consultation - Dr. Alkadri will discuss your goals, determine the best treatment options, and give you an idea of what to expect from the PRP facial.
Blood draw - A small amount of blood is drawn from your vein.
Spinning - The blood is placed in a centrifuge, where it spins so that the platelets are separated from the red blood cells.
Exosomes - If you are receiving exosome microneedling, you will skip the first three steps as the exosomes are already available with our Plated products.
Numbing - The face is topically numbed with an anesthetic cream to help you feel comfortable during application.
Microneedling - Using a microneedling pen, Dr. Alkadri creates tiny channels in the skin and activates collagen production.
Application - PRP is applied across the face so that it may enter those channels and be needled back into the skin.
Healing - You will experience some redness for 2-3 days following and should be sure to wear sunblock and protect the skin as it heals.
Result - You will begin seeing improvements shortly after the procedure, with the full results taking hold within several months and lasting up to 1-2 years.
Microneedling FAQ
What areas can be treated with PRP microneedling or exosomes microneedling?
Microneedling is appropriate for the face, chest, back, and more. Treatment will help break up damaged tissue or scar tissue, prompt cell growth in other skin tissues, and provide overall anti-aging.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of total sessions will depend on your skin’s aging and your treatment goals. Talk to Dr. Alkadri at your consultation about what he anticipates being ideal for your skin. Most clients benefit from several treatments spaced at least one month apart.
